Linzi Weatherson

Chair

Linzi has been lipspeaking for over 10 years providing additional signed support if requested. Linzi has recently completed a 3-year Interpreter Training Course and has recently achieved Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) status. Previously ALS Membership Secretary (2013-2016), ALS Social Media Officer (2014-2016), ALAS Membership Secretary (2017-2020) and Social Media Officer (2017-2021). Linzi is now Chair of ALAS.

Lisa Guildford

Vice Chair

Lisa is a Level 3 Lipspeaker with a Level 3 BSL qualification. Previously working in as a Social Worker, Lisa has a wealth of experience in a multitude of domains. Previously ALAS Committee Member (2021-2024), Lisa is now Vice Chair. 

Kirsty Last

Treasurer

Kirsty is a Level 3 Lipspeaker with a Level 3 BSL qualification. Previously working in the Police Service for 22 years, with the majority of service working as a Detective in CID and Serious and Organised Crime, Kirsty specialises in the Legal domain. First starting to learn BSL in 2012 after she had her daughter. Kirsty then qualified as a Lipspeaker in October 2019; now working full time as a freelance lipspeaker.

Laura Bradbury

Honourable Secretary

Laura has been a Level 3 Lipspeaker for over 10 years and communication is her passion. Currently studying BSL Level 4, Laura can offer both lipspeaking and lipspeaking with additional signed support. Laura worked briefly in an Audiology department, giving her vital insight that informs her everyday practise. Previously ALS Honourable Secretary (2013-2016) and Committee Member, Laura is now Honourable Secretary of ALAS. 

Nicole Vickery

Membership Secretary

Nicole qualified as a Level Lipspeaker in March 2018 after successfully completing her course with Lipspeaker UK and Sign 4 Thoughts. She also has BSL Level 2 and Deafblind Level 1 and has worked in many domains since qualifying. Nicole really enjoys the variety that the work offers and meeting so many people within the deaf and hard of hearing communities.

Lesley Weatherson

Committee Member

Lesley is an experienced Lipspeaker and BSL Interpreter providing lipspeaking with sign support if requested. Previous ALS Chair (2013-2016), vice chair (2012-2013), treasurer (2011-2012), Lesley provides lipspeakers with up to date information regarding news related to deaf people and our profession.

Hazel Ure-Williams

Committee Member

Hazel has worked as PA to a Deafblind entrepreneur for 20+ years.  Alongside this role, Hazel worked as a CSW for d/Deaf children at their unit in school for 11 years. Hazel has recently achieved Level 6 British Sign Language. Facilitating good communication between people is her passion!
