The Leading Supplier of Support, Information and Training in Lipspeaking with Additional Sign

Introducing the Association of Lipspeakers with Additional Signs ALAS

Responding to the NRCPD strategic plan for communication professionals, registrations and standards, the new Association of Lipspeakers using Additional Sign (ALAS) has been established.

Deaf people should have the choice of which communication support they wish to use.

British sign Language (BSL) is available for those who prefer to use a sign language interpreter

Lipspeakers are available for those who prefer to lipread, perhaps with some finger spelling used to initialise difficult words or acronyms

Lipspeakers using additional signs, borrowed from BSL are working in communication support and now have their own directory so that you can find them. Need a higher standard of BSL? Check the level of BSL skills against each member on the register.
