DESCRIPTION:15th September 2017\n10:00-16:00 \nLipspeaker/lipreader? \nClive Mason- famous for his TV work and ‘See Hear’\, will be facilitating the afternoon workshop to improve your BSL vocabulary. This workshop is designed for both hearing and deaf people. No previous experience is necessary. \nThe morning will focus on why we use incorrect signs as well as looking at signs we don’t yet know. \nThis is not a BSL workshop but a BSL borrowed vocabulary based day for CPD. (6 points). Aimed at lipspeakers who want to improve their BSL vocabulary but open to all. \nCosts:\nMembers £50\nNon-members £60 \nLearning outcomes \n\nUnderstand why we use the wrong signs. Incorrect lexical choices Unfamiliar terminology Regional variation? More than one sign for meaning? Told to by deaf person/ interpreter? Idiosyncratic?\nIdentify most appropriate sign to add (in context)\nIncrease sign vocabulary\nImprove confidence in ability to use the correct sign in context.\n\nPlease identify a personal list of confusion signs \nCan you put them into categories?\nHow do you store and remember new signs?\nCountries?
